北极阁胡同家宅改造

北极阁家宅改造是对于北京老城区居住环境更新的一次实验性尝试。原有屋顶结构中植入了三个天窗，一层空间的一侧增设一条紧凑的“功能带”，一座旋转楼梯雕塑式地攀升至二层阁楼，使得原本仅宽3米，长12米，狭窄拥塞的胡同排房蜕变成为一个充盈着阳光与自然，诉说着生活想象的高品质都市家宅。

House Renovation in Beijige Hutong     

A dwelling is not simply a roof over one’s head but a wealth of experience. Imaginations of lifestyle are expressed in the ground plan and also in relation to the location in the city.” This tiny house renovation project responds effectively to the challenge of updating existing structures in the historical fabric of metropolitan Beijing. It transforms a 3-meter wide but 12-meter deep, narrow unlivable space to a family house embracing nature, sunlight and decent living quality. Through the addition of three skylights on existing wooden roof, insertion of a “function bay” aligned to one side and a sculpture-like staircase leading up to attic, we intend to infuse the former row house with rich and lively imaginations.
